EFFECTLand pollution effects climate, extinction of species, biomagnification, and biodiversity. Land pollution can lead to depletion in forest covers which will effect the amount of rain and possibly kill vegetation. "Habitat destruction is when land clearing adversely effects the animals, such that their habitat is lost." (Pillai) Entire animal species are becoming extinct because of land pollution. "Biomagnification is the process in which certain non-biodegradable substances continue accumulating in the food chain." (Pillai) When this occurs, food chains can break and many animals die because of it. "The land, when contaminated with toxic chemicals and pesticides lead to problem of skin cancer and human respiratory system." (Renewable) land pollution effects humans as well as animals. |
